Gisoum, a Distinguished Representative of Iran in the Global Village Competition; Formation of a Strategic Task Force for World Heritage Registration (Pearl of Talesh)

Gisoum Village (Gisoum), where the grandeur of the Hyrcanian forests is intertwined with the vastness of the Caspian Sea, has been introduced as one of Iran’s top eight representatives for inclusion in the prestigious list of the Best Tourism Villages in the World (BTV) for 2026. In this regard, a specialized rural tourism task force, comprising local elites and officials, has developed a roadmap for achieving this international recognition and enhancing the indicators of the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) within this coastal-forest village.
